Don't tell me I don't know what I am talking about, then explain that you have no idea what I am talking about.

I am talking about a tax being pushed to alleviate the nightmare that is BR traffic. People voted for it, thinking that This time, maybe this time, something will actually happen.

The roads are about 6% better than they were in 1980. The traffic has almost doubled. The EBR population is about the same, but all of the new residents of Ascension and Livingston, that were forced out of BR still come in and use the roads daily.

It is an abortion.

This is what I am talking about, yet you come and tell me how they are going to build some nice walkways and plant flowers around the lakes. This is going to use money that is supposed to build MAJOR roads and alleviate the traffic clusterfrick.

frick adding 1 more mile of lane on the Interstate every 5 years. frick widening Perkins. Build some fricking big roads that are 10 lanes wide per side. Look where the traffic backs up and add 5 lanes, per side, there. Do it now.

Then get a vote going for a tax to build your little walkways and green space, until your brown space tingles.

The tax that passed covers this. You don’t know what you are talking about.

They are only going to use money from the tax that was specifically allocated for pedestrian improvements.

Money for fixing college drive won’t be allocated to planting flowers at the lake.

The PM version of the BRBR further clarified the use of the MovEBR money.

The PM version confirms what many her thought, the announcement is premature and no one other than BREC committed a firm amount of money.

10 lane wide college Drive... noted. That should take care of every traffic problem in BR from here on out!

It did, I said all along that what they called "enhancements" was just discretionary monies. It could be used on almost anything, anywhere.

How much of that tax was advertised for dredging the lakes? How much total does it raise? What were people led to belive that it would be used for? Here's a hint. To Move Baton Rouge. It was sold as a traffic tax.

Fixing College drive doesn't get I-10 and I-12 moving. It doesn't sync red lights that have been fricked since inception.

Believe that. It will happen.

I Nam probably coming to BR before the end of the year. Can I get a map of all the new roads that have been built with this tax money, and the areas in which the lights have been synced? I didn't think so.

Enough meetings, studies, and luncheons. The same studies have been done, ad nauseum. Build something.

Line 57 says that money was allocated for parish projects. City projects are specifically named.

I don't live there anymore. I am glad you are all happy with the services you have been getting. In 10 years, when you are sitting there, stuck in traffic, enjoy.

Last I heard the lakes were still in East Baton Rouge Parish. The complete list is parishwide.

Read better and try comprehension.

And if you don’t live here why the frick do you care?

What I was speaking of is obviously beyond you. I guess I will just let it go. I know that you remember getting your driver's license in 1977, and driving up Government, from downtown, on the way to your house, and noticing that there was no rhyme or reason for the way the red lights operated.

Maybe you just have to be away from there to be able to see just how little has been done to help John Q public's daily life.

They need to get dredged and deepend, then have surrounding land drain into them.

This involves JBE and SWB. Only downvotes and criticism are allowed. A similar project could happen in St. George with different names attached and this would be 20 pages of jerking off the parties heroically involved.

A whole lot of this. Not long ago some STG hero floated a plan to put hiking biking trails on the Amite dividing Ascension/Livingston/StG and the overwhelming majority of idiots on this site rubber stamped the idea. Idiots.

Looks to me like your precious St George is getting a good start on new projects.

It must just suck to go through life as a simple minded person.
