Money for fixing college drive won’t be allocated to planting flowers at the lake.

well yeah, the plan isn't only to dredge the lakes
There is no way dredging the lakes, putting up side walks and picnic areas, and planting some flowers costs $80,000,000.

I have no clue what something like that costs

I have a semblance of a clue.
Dredging setting/retention ponds with about a 2-2.5 acre area for about 5-7 feet is close to $5,000,000. Disposal of dewatered dredged solids is probably another million.
How big are the lakes combined?

There are six urban lakes that range in area from four to 196 acres, with a cumulative area of approximately 275 acres. Campus Lake is located on the southern end of the system and is approximately seven acres in area. The watershed is approximately 105 acres of the LSU campus

Could pay 20-30 students $10/hr to dredge by hand, plus waived tuition.
Nah, let's throw $80 million down on it.

What other sort of projects would you rather BREC and LSU put their portion and effort of the lake effort towards?
