Councilman Buddy Amoroso lowering the boom on the Mayor:
Buddy has a pulse on the situation....he knows that this will be a clusterfrick.
quote:
"I have some hard concerns about this mayor's ability to be able to pick someone," Amoroso said, "if you just look at the history of what she's done with the (chief administrative officer) and right now we still only have an interim CAO."
He said he has seen no indication that she's been working to find a new police chief.
"I'm very nervous about that," Amoroso said. "It's a very important position that needs to be filled, and I hope she has been quietly gathering national resumes behind the scenes."

That guy's an "interim" CAO the way Bud Selig was an "interim" Commissioner of Baseball.

He qualified for retirement and didn't feel like feeling with the BS, who would blame him?

Ascension and Livingston property just increased another 5% in value and will increase another 5% when the new chief is hired.

I don't get the abrupt retirement.
Why posture that you want to remain Chief for the past (7) months and put up with SWB's political statements in the press if you ultimately intend to leave in a few months. It seems to me if he planned on retiring he would have told her and not have had to endure her demands for the termination of Salamoni and calls for a new Chief.
Either way, I wish the guy good luck in his retirement. He has had a very respected career and made a ton of money for a municipal police officer.

ah ok yeah i saw it was actually a letter of retirement. I dont blame him one bit.

They want a reform candidate. Reform what? They have no clue. Instead of having an open discussion about police brutality we have this bastardized BLM mess where criminals are good baws goin to college in the fall and all cops are murderers within 24 hours of a shooting.

It was spotty. Some parts did, some didn't, but by the school it didn't.
Some parts of Gonzales, Burnside, Darrow, and Sorrento stayed dry as well. Basically, everything East of 431 flooded, most of everything East of Airline, everything along Bayou Manchac/Alligator Bayou flooded, and most places surrounding New River flooded.
Everything along the Mississippi River, New Gonzales, etc was fine.

And other spots like City Hall and Raising Canes had feet of water. Like I said, it was spotty. Mostly, the areas around New River got f&%ked.
