I played a country club sport at LSU. 10 that were hipster? I think of one who transferred to Uhigh, one that transfered to BR high, and one that stayed at CHS who had a unique first name.

St Jude is about half the size of the other two (as far as sections within each grade). Educationally they are about the same, though St Jude had been kicking arse in the Math curriculum the past five years ( think that may have calmed some recently).

As for sports, they are somehow about even, but I think that may be because the St Jude 7 and 8th grades have some really good athletes right now. You would expect them to have problems competing with roughly half the boys, but somehow they compete.

My daughter has been at St. George since kindergarten; she's in 6th grade now.

She's been both happy and challenged there, and she's just getting to the age where the kids (especially girls) start getting catty and clique-ish.

The tuition was about $4.5k IIRC

We love the school and church. The principal is kind of a dork, but he's from Washington state so I guess we can forgive him.

Fr. Mike is a really good pastor, not the hell and brimstone type.

ETA: We live in Prairieville, and the drive (if you leave before 7am) really isn't bad at all.

Yeh sports really shouldnt be in the cards here. They all feed in to CHS, where they went to middle school wont affect the sports in HS

Kids go to St. Aloysius.. All schools are pretty comparable. Aloysius has the most per grade and I believe all average around the same class size which some people view as high.. Personally I believe thats an overrated stat as the kids in these schools arent going to be allowed to frick off and distract the class. I love the community and friends weve made, its been a great experience all around for my family. Father Than is an awesome priest and I can only wish for improved health and that we can keep him at the church for as long as possible.

You can't go wrong with any of those three. I think the whole "Aloysius has the weird kids" comes from the fact that they are the biggest school now. Of course they're going to have the most weirdos.

From another High School? Actually not too hard. It is very hard though to get in as a Freshman though if you didnt go to a catholic middle school.

Easy for a great athlete.

Monetary donations have a big influence on your kids chances.

Agreed. Father Tom was so good growing up. Unfortunately, it took the death of a good family friend to finally see him at SGS again.

From what I hear, they way to go about this is to try to get in for 8th grade. I think they kid needs to be higher end academically though.

I've got one at St. George and another who'll start K next year.

Would highly recommend the school, and the fair Milfage is outstanding.
