Man, I've tried to give the street car a chance, but you just have to wait too damn long if you miss one. I'd rather Uber.

Well, that surprised the hell out of me.

Nasty smelling hipsters all over the place... Do you want to be in a confined area with those people?

I also love how there's a bunch of major and majorish cities and then fricking Arlington, Texas as if anyone gives a shite about that place.

Pretty pathetic to have such shite public transportation in a place basically built for tourists.

Don't care. CATS wouldn't be good with double the tax revenues. BR just isn't a public transportation town.

Good public transportation isn't something you just decide to create and start having one day.

It takes decades of planning to have great public transportation like big big cities have. If you don't have good public transportation now (something other than buses) you may never have it.

Normally yes, but NOLA was given the chance to start over and rebuild from the ground up and have it paid for by the federal government. But they failed.

I'm surprised on St.Louis.The MetroLink is usually considered one of the better run light rail systems in the country. The Nola street car system is not all that bad,the Canal,St Charles and riverfront lines are better than the busses and in some cases driving

I think that BR should get rid of CATS and let the people that run LSU bus system run it. I was in college when LSU switched and it was night and day difference.

New Orleans back in the late 60' and the 1970's had the best bus service. One could go across town on .10.

Good public transportation is for liberals. Can't have that in the south.

This. The city is to spread out and truly not a city somewhat.

Well, the good news for me is that I own a car.

Tourists will enjoy riding the streetcar and just Uber elsewhere.

Sorry poors.

The school board killed New Orleans public transportation in the late '80s. The school board instead of providing yellow bus service for their high school students gave them RTA bus passes.

Who wants to ride a bus to & from work, that has dozens of NOPS high school students on them?

Once the public stopped riding, no one cared if it went to shite.
