It was in North County St. Louis. Some witnesses say there was no break in and the 11 year old had been waving a gun on the porch earlier--someone said he was trying to sell the 11 year old a phone. Though no cops were called. The mom says the gun was there because they had previous B and E issues at the house. Yet her 11 and 4 year olds were left alone in that neighborhood.

Happened at 2:35pm yet not a single one of these kids were in school.

So worst case scenario is that an 11 year old baited some kid to come onto the porch and then shite him. Best case scenario is a 16 year old and a friend tried to break into a home while an 11 year old and a 4 year old were left alone in a questionable neighborhood while the dad is nowhere to be found and the mom was doing God knows what.

Thanks St. Louis, for pushing the envelope on social debate.

That woman must be smoking crack, because the exact same article says the 16 year old was dead in the foyer, not on the porch like she claimed

The recidivism rate is quite low after a shot to the head.

OT parents: acclimate your kids with guns at a young age and teach them to respect it more than fear it. Could save their life one day.

Pretty disgusting how people are delighted at the fact an 11 year old found himself in a position to shoot and kill someone. I'm sure that won't affect him for the rest of his life. But who cares, killing is cool!

I would blast them. I wouldnt probably go for a fatal shot

If I have to shoot someone I am going to try to kill them. The myth of 'winging' someone is from the 40's cowboy movies. Unless you were an extremely skilled marksman it would be folly to try - more likely to miss and hit something behind the perp.

in the heat of the moment you aim and fire

This is the operative statement - even a skilled marksman could screw up in the heat of the moment - unless he was a trained combat specialist.

You don't know anything about conditional statements do you?

Who said they were thrilled it happened?

I am glad the 11 yr old was able to defend himself, and give very little sympathy to the perp.

Am I glad the perp broke into the home?? - nope -

try again.

The obvious question still is where was the mother? 11 is about the age where a lot of parents would leave their kids alone here and there...but not with another 4 year old in the house.

I agree. I have an 11 & 9 that are latch key kids for 30 minutes or so when they get off the bus. No way I would leave a 4 YO in the care of an 11 YO.

The guy who was shot in the head was found in the foyer. So unless the 11 year old dragged him inside (presumably hiding the evidence of an outside shooting as well), the woman's story is null.

Let's have some compassion on this family. It's obviously a working single mom where the eleven year old stayed home with a sick 4 year old.

I feel bad for the 11 year old boy. He had to take a life. Can't fault him for taking action, though.

Yeah, that's all irrelevant if the 16 year old broke in

As long as the "dindus", as is the new code word, gets shot, lots of these folks are pretty much ok with the "minor details" like an 11 year old having to shoot someone in the head.
