I haven’t been in over a decade but Tigerland had their fair share of power drunk bouncers that went over the line. Trash will be trash no matter where are it seems

I go through this on almost every OT thread related to a homicide. You can't just use your generic understanding of the various homicide charges when dealing with a specific jurisdiction the names and requirements vary significantly from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
The third degree murder charge is fairly rare but in Pennsylvania is killing another without premeditation and not in the commission of a felony.
Involuntary manslaughter is similar to your negligent manslaughter but the killing is required to be while committing an illegal act or gross negligence.
Third degree murder is probably the best charge here and the highest they could have charged him with just on the video clip. Carries 10-20.

I had one of these cases. It sucked so bad for the guy. My client had to spend months in jail until I got the prosecutors to dismiss everything.

That bouncer is toast. He initiated the the the altercation. He moved forward to steps in an affirmative manner. He left the doorway ....which is a no no even if you were saying you were defending the sanctity of the establishment.
If he were removing the patron that would be another story. But the video shows him initiating. Pretty cut and dry at least from the video.

He was in the street. It would not matter what he said or threatened to do. I would tell his lawyer to take a plea and be done with things.
