Health/exercise/diet:
Is this not something they learned? My in laws thinks my wife works out to lose weight.
She's a healthy weight and lifts to maintain body/muscle and it's good for her mental health.
Another example, we're convinced they don't understand that liquids have calories. Stuff like that just blows our mind.
Her mother will have an upset stomach and wants to eat yogurt and drink orange juice for breakfast and we're sitting there saying "those items aren't good to have with an upset stomach."
They'd also take another pill before every attempting to make a lifestyle change.
Has anyone experienced similar situations with their aging parents?
Dining out at chain restaurants.
They love shitty chain restaurants when they do dine out. Of all the places in the world out there that are excellent but they'll go to a Red Lobster or places like that.

At some point you don't care what your parents eat as long as they eat.
Deal with some really old parents and get back to me.

My parents drank cokes in the morning and alcohol in the evening every day of their lives and quite literally NEVER bought fruit. It seems odd now, but they were both raised in the rural south and never had fruit as kids either; it just never occurred to them.
I had to teach myself how to eat healthy as an adult. I would never let my own children have the kind of diet we had. And my parents were both educated and had decent jobs. Sometimes I still shake my head.

Don’t apply your in-law’s ignorance and foibles to all boomers. Sounds like you married wrong.

Most posters on this site are boomers so your thread should have legs.

I think you’ll be hard pressed to find and older people who give a crap what anyone thinks about us. We’ve worked and earned the right to do what we want to do.
They’ll have to adjust not us..

How is this a Boomer issue? I'm a millennial, and for starters this obsession with bitching about boomers is annoying as hell, not to mention that absolutely nothing in your post is something you can ascribe to boomers due to generational differences.
TL:DR your post is retarded.

Yogurt is very good for the stomach. If they drink orange juice though, it’s probably shitty sugar yogurt.

Boomers got got by big food and advertising.
Switching from sugar to sweet n low
Butter to margarine
Cheese to velveta
Chips to pringles
Anything with ‘light’ in the name.
Low cholesterol
Now 40- years later people shocked to find out that stuff is actually bad for you and why everyone has GI issues or the ‘beetus.
