This was just a regular traffic stop, something explodes in the vehicle right by the officer. The Sheriff Department says it was a 'makeshift chemical reactive pipe bomb'.
They have arrested the driver and another guy that wasn't even in the vehicle. His home was searched and drugs were found. The sergeant had to go to the hospital and they shut that entire area down for some time to investigate. The injured sergeant is doing fine now thankfully.
Suspect is still in custody with NO BOND.
He has been charged with:
- MAKE, POSSESS, THROW, PROJECT, OR DISCHARGE ANY DESTRUCTIVE (statute 790.161.3)
- AGGRAVATED BATTERY ON LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (statute 784.07.2d)
- CARRYING A CONCEALED FIREARM DURING COMMISSION OF A FELONY (statute 790.07.2)
- ARMED TRAFFICKING IN METHAMPHETAMINES (28 GRAMS TO 200 GRAMS) 2 counts (statute 893.135.1f1b)
- POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE WITH INTENT TO SELL ( statute 893.13.1a1)
- MAINTAIN A DRUG DWELLING OR CONVEYANCE (statute 893.13.7a5)

Why are bubbas so obsessed with making pipe bombs? A lot of times it doesn’t even seem like a doomsday type, just some random who woke up and said “hmm today I will make a bomb.”

It amazes me that people can drive around with literal trash on their seats like that and just not give a shite about it. Like that dude had to literally be sitting on top of trash when he drove that truck.

People are trashy. I get disgusted when I see some nasty fricker driving along with his dashboard covered in junk. I can't have ANYTHING on my dash reflecting off the windshield. Drives me nuts.
And if you think vehicles are nasty, you should see the inside of some people's houses. Back in the day I worked for a company that did mold remediation and my job was to go to the client's house and test for mold. If mold was found I would write up an estimate for the insurance company. I've been in houses so gross it triggered my gag reflex. One of my teams was doing the mold remediation in this house with an old lady and her adult son. In his room, under the bed, were hundreds of wadded up balls of Kleenex. They saind the whole room stank of semen.
