What were they responding to? What was their probable cause?

Looks like he pulled a weapon out of his right shorts pocket to me.
he kinda sorta moved his right arm. No way should any person reasonably feel like they are in danger in that situation

That cop must feel real tough to shoot a man without his shirt on

Total failure on your part. Only cops who break the law, abuse their power, violate rights, and shoot without justification. So you like cops who do that, boot-licker?

Cop on the right has bad form. Cop on the left has much better fundamentals.

It's no longer about what is right, wrong or reasonable, it's about whether they can do it and not get prosecuted

FRESNO POLICE RESPOND TO BODY CAM VIDEO OF FATAL SHOOTING OF FREDDY CENTENO

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) --
The clip released Thursday from a police body camera shows officers shooting 40-year-old Freddy Centeno.

The body camera video shows police pulling over and demanding Freddy Centeno hit the ground, but then immediately opened fire. The 40-year-old mentally disabled man is hit 9 times and died in the hospital 23 days later.

Attorney Humberto Guizar is representing Centeno's family in a lawsuit against the city of Fresno and the two officers.

"This is a bad shooting," Guizar said. "This is an atrocity."

In Guizar's view, it shows the officers did not give Centeno a chance to respond to their commands.

"They tell him get on the ground," Guizar explained. "He didn't have the chance to get on the ground you could count the time, until they stopped the car, one second, before they began to fire."

But to Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer the video shows the officers were more than justified. He says the video shows Centeno reached for a black spray nozzle in his pocket, which looks like a gun.

"To the shorts, reaching in his pocket short pocket, still in the pocket, there it comes, right there," Dyer said while viewing the video. "Which clearly appears to be a handgun, and then the next one, and he begins to raise it, and that's when the officers feared for their life and fired their weapons."

Dyer also played the 911 call which first alerted police to Centeno in which a woman says he came to her door, pulled a gun and claimed he was a federal agent.

But Guizar notes, despite the call, Centeno's never raised the nozzle toward the officers and argues they were not justified in shooting him so many times.

Suspiciousness. Call about him having a gun. From what I have read, he has had no interactions with the police. SO no record. Was also seriously mentally ill

Do you know the backstory to this incident? No. You just see a video about cops shooting a guy and post it. That makes you a cop hater. Sorry.

Here's the thing, while I don't condone excessive force, if the man in control of the situation tells you to do something, you do it. If you don't, you should be prepared for any consequences, even the ultimate one is excessive.

"Mentally ill" - Euphemism for worthless drain on society.

Also, I'm sure there was a reason the cops were called on this guy.

he was totally given a legitimate chance to comply that warranted the cop to kill him
