Cops are increasingly involved in these stupid games. Kind of scary.

If you limit the officer's ability to defend himself by what he perceives....you also limit your ability to defend yourself based on your perceptions.

The officer's right to defend himself or someone is the same right that a citizen uses as well.

What if he was hard of hearing? So it's okay to shoot a deaf criminal?

I knew you'd assume that I thought their behavior was ok; I just said you only highlight the good ones. Doing someone's job as described is not being a good cop.

What about something like the cop who went to a noise complaint about the kids playing basketball and played with them instead of being a dick and asking them to quiet down. He recognized they were kids being kids, and played with them.

My point is that you only highlight the bad guys. No, I'm not ok with anyone abusing their power, authority, and/or job, but thanks for assuming.

Cops are held to a higher standard than a citizen. When they start going in trigger happy things like this happen.

Not really. Don't reach into your pocket when cops have guns on you and you won't have anything to be scared off

Not really. As far as cop shootings go, I go with the facts as presented. No agenda.

911 call says the guy is armed. Call out to cops says he is armed. They confront the guy and tell him to get down. He goes into his pocket and pulls out a black object.

Unfortunate, but in the moment, you can't fault the cops on this one.

So the cops should just get shot first to see if he is a real threat?

It doesn't happen but it should. It won't because there are too many ignorant cop supporters like yourself.

HAS ANYONE thought? Why not use a taser instead????

Unless he was blind and didn't see the 2 cops with guns on him, he should no better than to "dig" in his pocket for somethING.

Said nothing about the video or the cop. He's just consistently pointing out the bad ones.

Good day sir.

That is doing his job. Not being a dick IS doing his job. It does not deserve and award or recognition.

What was the nature of the call to police?

For them to come out of the unit with guns drawn, it wasn't just a normal encounter.

The totality of the circumstances is so much more broader than what these witch hunt SJW vids and articles depict. It really is pointless and pathetic to Monday morning qb this shite when youre looking at maybe 50% of the situation.

Not when it comes to lethal action.

You have the right to protect yourself or someone else against a reasonable threat of death or serious injury.
