Anytime you put someone on speaker phone you should let them know someone else is present.

Correct. There are subtle ways to tell the caller who you're with.
You could always do what I do and say "Hey I have you on speaker now while I'm driving, say hi to X(person I'm in the car with)."

I deal with something similar at work. When I call one of our locations that I used to work at, there are several people who will put everyone on speaker. I worked closely with a lot of them, so I usually speak freely. But I never realize I'm on speaker phone. I've said some highly inappropriate things that the entire office has heard. Such as
Them: The customer just said that they want blah blah blah done by tomorrow.
Me: I want a blowjob from a big titted supermodel, but some shite just isn't going to happen.
Them: (gasps and laughs from the women sitting in the office) ummmmmmmm, you're on speaker......
Lesson learned, tell me I'm on speaker or I'm not going to want to answer your calls.

Heterosexual guys won't do it that way!
I always tell folks unless there's a strategic business reason to leave my passenger unannounced.

it is their responsibility to immediately state if an easily offended person is also in the car listening.
If an easily offended person is riding in my truck, then i dont answer it on bluetooth if I know the person calling can be offensive

how about don't say stupid shite to embarrass yourself.
How about I greet my close friends with a hearty "Im looking for Dick Gobbler, is this the correct number for a Dick Gobbler?" and you let me live my life!?

It's always best to let them know if there is an African-American in the car.

I generally tell people they're on speaker phone in general.
Is that a general rule?

I ask. Don't leave it to the other party.
