Pirate probably thinks he’s safe in his scenario because he’s a welder or something and millions of layoffs and a cratering economy wouldn’t affect him. There are many similar retards on here.

Hope Jack Dorsey and his 3.8 Billion net worth will be ok! Think of him during this troubling time.

Wealthy and/or government contracts once the government decides what the masses “need” that also happens to keep them wealthy.

The rich can get away with fricking with the lower class, but they're about to frick with the middle class, and they're going to fight back.

Majority of people are still in denial about the massive job loss AI is going to create. And it’s not 20 years away either, it’s coming soon. Actually, it’s already started.

They are in denial because most people at my office are still using it to make memes and craft emails for them. AI capabilities have exploded in the last six months and the past four week alone have been ridiculous.

bullshite

the middle class, especially the white middle class, is actively and aggressively promoting and encouraging this thru their own political parties. The left and the right have sold their souls to oligarchs.

Murdoch, musk, Bezos and Ellison are practically in control of the American media. All three branches of government are in debt service to money. The chief executive is selling foreign and domestic policy to the highest bidder, the Supreme Court is in the pocket of billionaires and the legislature is doing both of their bidding. Meanwhile corporate America is racing towards the bottom in pursuit of profit at all costs while touting their fancy share prices.

But yeah, the middle class has had enough and is fighting back…

AI is like any other tool created by humans. Alone, it isn't bad. It is a tool that can be used for good or used for oppression.

We just unfortunately know how our world is going to use it

People are fighting it, but the gov and town officials allow it. Nobody wants data center. Expect those who stand to profit from the build or land sale. St Tammany has been hearing uproar chatter and posted yesterday that no data centers are being proposed there. But bet in 5 years one is built. Lacombe was being whispered.

"If things accelerate?"

We're already at mach 9. Is mach 10 going to suddenly be too much?

Get the frick out of here.

I’ve had similar experiences. I see professionals basically saying anyone can do x, y, and z with AI. Okay, if that’s true, why would they need you?

I fricking hate AI and all of these ridiculous ways to "improve efficiency". I don't like dealing with incompetent people (why I will go 2 weeks at a time without only being on my land or on the lake), but AI is much worse than dealing with the occasional retard.

I'm glad as shite that my livelihood isn't threatened by AI, but I worry about the future for our children.

I can't lie, I'm starting to get worried about AI. I was skeptical about all the doom and gloom, but this is really happening. It's a train that won't be stopped
