BLOCKBUSTER VIDEO - Before Streaming Movies

It was an event to go up to the Blockbuster and rent a movie or video game. I would stay in there for 30 minutes trying to find the perfect movie or video game to rent for the night.It was a great place to take a date as well. Those days have passed. Now you click a button but back in the day, going to rent a movie was a fun event that today's kids will never understand

I much prefer our current digital on demand model. I'm amazed people still use redbox.

It was an awesome experience, especially when they had a copy behind the desk that hadn't been put back on the shelf yet. And the candy/snack selection was prime time.

I never liked Blockbuster because they were overpriced. I did spend quite a bit of time at Movie Gallery though.

I miss Blockbuster and renting movies.

I'd say I miss arcades more than anything. Those were some fun. Oh, and Orange Julius. Loved those things.

It really did make renting a movie with the gf more of an event than it needed to be. Drive across town, find a movie, grab a snack at sonic, then go watch the movie. Easy cheap date night.

With my family, it became part of it. "Drop the moves off on the way to work or school."
"Make sure to rewind the movies so we don't get charged."
"Leave the blockbuster card before you leave because I am going to stop by after work to rent some movies"
Friday night was always new release night and the place would be packed.

Never forget racing to the drop box to return your rentals just in time to avoid the late fee.

I went to the library today and checked out 2 books. 'Twas a joyful experience except for the homeless drug addict that was sittting by the computers used to look up titles that smelled of stale piss.
