For all the dipshits who dump on police officers on this site, this is the shite they have to put up with day in and day out. Are there some bad apples, yes, but the overwhelming majority of cops are good people trying to keep us safe. If you’ve had a bad interaction, yes, I’m blaming you 99% of the time

I dont believe that anyone in this thread is saying that these cops did anything wrong, criminal, or unethical, and im not sure how people calling out cops that abuse their power and authority have anything to do with this situation. These two things are not mutually exclusive.

Remember the Black guy who grabbed the side arm of officer in interrogation room doorway? No mention of a protest for him.

They're largely not and the majority of the state are some of the nicest, most hard working people you could meet. They're like a northern version of southerners.

The state went for Trump in 2024. Madison is in south central WI.

If you'll recall, Madison was the site of the most infamous hoax of 2020, when Althea Bernstein made absurd claims of being hunted and attacked by MAGA guys.

It was dumb from the outset, but tons of money and time were put into the investigation. Ultimately police found no evidence of it, but she wasn't charged. Even after the findings, the NFL presented her as a victim of violence.

In reality, she probably burned herself tossing Molotov cocktails at a protest.

I live two blocks from there and find it ironic that protesters in the community are martyring a criminal who was stealing from them, threatening musicians, disrupting traffic by building barricades with stolen trash bins, closing businesses by cutting off access, and cancelling an annual fundraising festival for the neighborhood with no repercussions. What concerns me more is what’s going to happen if the police are exonerated following the investigation. I’d like to see some response now to forestall the chaos that’s likely to ensue.

I give zero fricks. They should be exonerated.

Sorry you live there, bro, but Madison deserves everything that they get from this.

The refusal to give body cams to their officers is enough to make me not give a shite.

They get what they deserve.

Mob of angry protesters crashed a concert in Madison, Wisconsin, demanding "justice" for Corey Ruiz, a black man who was shot and killed by police after he allegedly pulled a knife during an arrest.
Ruiz got judged by the content of his character….

This isn't "irony" at all. This is "progress"!

Get you some and love it!

You sound like you are a racist fascist nazi that is in a cult. You should be shot in the neck in front of your wife and kids for that type of thinking, you POS. Learn to have some humanity and kindness.

Sincerely,

This is the epitome of Democrat policy and viewpoint.

There is a reason there is no cooperation between the right and left anymore.

This is considered the norm for progressive Democrats.

Why would I ever want to work with people like that?

What kind of response would you envision? Because you know what that does...it caters to the mob and emboldens them. It's kinda like saying "we know you can't act like civilized members of society and will throw tantrums, so we'll bend the knee".

I don’t believe you understand my point. A large part of the Madison community supports the police, as I do, and believes, as I do, that these protests are harming more than helping the neighborhood. All in the name of justice for a violent criminal. By characterizing all residents here as supporting the protesters, you’re not giving an accurate picture of what’s happening.

That is every area of the country.

There is always the outlier.

You are the outlier.

You live in a city where you are statistically irrelevant.

The VAST majority of Madison supports this.

Sorry that you got dragged into the mess the VAST majority of your neighbors supported.

Madison deserves what it receives.

You really only have two choices:

1. Deal with the fallout of your city’s majority political views.

2. Leave.

I would not live in a city where my political views are VASTLY overshadowed by those around me.

About 3/4 of posters on the Madison subreddit agree with this and wouldn’t understand the humor.

Give the protesters who built the barricades and are blocking access to neighborhood businesses a deadline for leaving. If they don’t, remove the barricades and arrest those who resist. There have been no repercussions for criminal behavior that’s likely to escalate.

This is 10000000% correct. I say this as someone who was once voting right alongside these demons.

Once your city has been conquered by progressives, there is no going back. It will take decades to vote your way out of this (you won't). You can't reason with people that think men can be women (among other vile things), and violence as a response to opposite opinions is acceptable.

What is even funnier about this is that Ruiz's criminal profile currently lists him as "white". Progressives do this to influence and try to sway the crime numbers to push the "white supremacist" lie. However, since Ruiz was killed while committing a crime, he will now be "black", as to fit another lie they push.

I hope progressives burn the entire city down. It is always funny to me how these "racist" incidents mostly seem to happen in "Progressive" cities too. More irony that fails to land on leftists.

You live in Madison.

You know that that isn’t going to happen.

This is the city council that refused to give your officers bodycams.

They are more likely to go out and protest with BLM.

Good luck, bro. You will need it.

That's what happens when you let petulant children run wild and throw tantrums. They turn into violent "protesters".
