Why don’t they compare Shaniqua’ salary to an Asian man?
That would be wacist.

I had to do some training the other day for all employees who have been employed for this employer for less than a year. I walked into the room and a good 75%- 85% of all ‘New’ employees were black females fresh out of college.
Since we know each other from here can you let me skip the line next time I go to renew my license?

Probably because black women work lower paying jobs in general.

This pay gap is bullshite and the data is not a true apples to apples comparison. There is no such thing as a gender or racial pay gap.
There is a pay gap, but the explanation offered up by those that want equality of outcome is lacking. It's a perfectly explainable phenomenon with no roots in racism or sexism, but the far left wants control, not explanations.

So you mean to tell me the fry cook at BK has to work 8 more months to make same as the burger prepper?
I call BS.
I call BS.

This is bs. I know a black woman with a safety engineering degree. She is well into the 6 figures.

with the exact same job?
No, which is one reason this is so ridiculous.

Black women made an average of 66 cents on the dollar paid to white men in 2017, regardless of education, experience and location, according to a recent analysis by the Economic Policy Institute
So for every dollar I make as a white man, a black woman gets .66? I knew it was probably high, but that’s staggering...I’m only left with .34

How in gods name can you compare something without taking these things into consideration?

Like every job I have had the men at McDonald’s probably volunteer to work more hours to make extra money while the women cut their hours so they can work less a week
Plus, another factor I'm sure is the high number of black women that have bum (ex)husbands or had kids out of wedlock.
I know it's much more prevalent altogether today, but amongst black women it's the most.
And high paying jobs that do a lot of vetting know that single mothers have a lot of extra burden that will cost them time & money.
So they're more likely to be passed over.

Vetting based on number of kids and marriage status is illegal, fwiw.

That's true. However, I've seen our office professional (nice black girl) do just that looking at candidate's Facebook. She's like "this one has baby daddy drama don't hire her arse".

I didn't say it wasn't, but tell me you don't think it happens.

When the point of your article is to push an agenda.

Agreed. It is a level of education and experience pay gap. A mechanical engineer is going to make more than a hairdresser at Fantastic Sams. I would almost be willing to bet if you looked at black women with mechanical engineering and 5 years experience vs a white male with the same; I would bet the black woman is actually paid MORE.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong, no critique on it. Just saying that men still make more even when you control as much as you can to draw similar comparisons.

Why is that funny?
At my work, we are all paid based on skill set and longevity.
Three (out of 8 employees) are women paid the most. No race or gender issues.
