white after church crowd.

The Pentecostals who came in on Sunday night right at closing, destroyed your section, left $2 on a $200 tab then bitched about people working on the Sabbath. We used to rock/paper/scissors...loser had to wait on them. Everyone else did their side work.

Many black people will talk themselves into being offended and feeling unwelcome. Its really not their fault. It’s been ingrained in them since birth to feel this way.

I was down there for a few days and everyone I met was super friendly. I even exchanged numbers with a few to go out to eat and hang out with. It was an enjoyable experiment.

So there would be no backlash for a “white spring break”? No media outrage right?

Good points and true but what has the NAACP actually advanced? Or the mouthpieces that get up and scream "RACISM"? Why are things perceived to be so bad. At one time, it was way worse. There is no arguing that. Everyone has the opportunity to better themselves, it just doesn't happen.

No lie. Not arguing that they are very effective now. Just arguing in support of its origins, intent and existence. People are so quick to say "What about the advancement of white people?"

Well, The Springfield Riot of 1908 is what was the turning point and yielded the NAACP. Can't say this scale of unilateral attack has ever happened to whitey in America except maybe the Natchez Revolt of 1729 when the Indians and slaves killed a bunch of French/Europeans in Natchez.
I don't count Nat Turner. He was a hero and like Braveheart in my opinion.

Springfield Riot of 1908

Natchez Revolt

An Italian American can be proud to be Italian.

An Irish American can be proud to be Irish.

A Mexican American can be proud to be Mexican.

But when it comes to the American black. For some reason its frowned upon to take pride in oneself. Our history and culture has been destroyed over time, so the identity I have is the one of the black man. And I’m proud to be that. I’m not being disrespectful to anyone or any races. I’m just accepting who I am and how the world sees me.

If the world saw me as just a man and nothing else. That’s how I would identify myself, but let’s be truthful. One of the first things you see when meeting someone is their race followed by their gender.

That’s our country’s history. Why run from it? We don’t run from discussions about the American revolution or the civil war. The only time history doesn’t matter or it should be forgotten is when it details black American history in this country.

Southerners will fight like hell to keep their Confederate Monuments as it pertains to "heritage and history",

But don't you dare bring up the horrors of slavery.

Great frickin point.

And trump wants to bring back slavery by making people work if they're on welfare and food stamps and get section 8

See FreakNik for his statement

This event closed the entire city down for days. The city govt ran them out after a couple of years

I worked at very popular bars in Buckhead during these. Scary stuff

I don't think that way. I believe everyone has the responsibility to take care of themselves. I want to know what Maxine Waters has done for her constituents, have things improved in her district? It's people like her that pisses me off, quit talking and do more doing. No doubt things were bad in the past. May not be great now but it sure isn't like it was in the past.

Tell me how your life is affected by slavery?

What rights do you not have today?

As a white conservative I feel unwelcome a lot too. What do I get?

You get to go to work and involuntarily redistribute the gains of that work. And you'll do it with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

i doubt Roger believes that the pride in those other histories is that important, either

i certainly don't

i judge people based on their current value/projection and not their family/racial/cultural history

quote:

Our history and culture has been destroyed over time,

the opposite is more true. "Western black culture" has been created and developed over time, from slavery to the present

*ETA: i'm not defending slavery, just correcting your incorrect statement

if you're referencing legit African history/culture, then i don't know why. when Africa was colonized the majority of SSA was in the stone age with stone age cultures. no culture of that quality exists today. they were ALL taken over by more advanced/superior cultures. that is not unique to Sub Saharan Africa. hell, Northern Africa had already had that change centuries prior to Western colonization
