Black men now living as long as white men for first time ever, but there’s a catch

Good reason it is occurring
1) fall in homicide rate, which disproportionately affects black males
2) huge advancements in AIDS treatment, which disproportionately helps black men
Bad reason it is occurring
1) white male LE is declining.....because of the opioid crisis. White men die from opioids at a rate far far higher than black men.
So, Black make LE is rising, White male LE is falling, so they are converging
