Honor someone who is not a civil rights leader/icon.
A few years ago the Natchitoches local minority newspaper had a big ad and all the figures pictured and listed were civil rights figures.
Why not scientists? Inventors? Business leaders?

Silk the Shocker should also be considered. He spent a lot of time in Baton Rouge, so he has a real connection here and should be considered.
