Different meanings for white people and black people?
Sounds.....nope, is racist as frick.

Nah she's black for me. Black can be as dark as night or as pale as sinbad or lighter.
These strifes are petty and stupid, and don't help for intra-unity.
And I especially hate it when it gets out in a public forum because it allows those ignorant about blackness to spew their ignorance and solidify their lack of knowledge

How is that racist? Why are you so determined to bare this cross?
That frat, which is open to ALL people, has been using that sign since the early 1900s. Did they have to ask white supremacists to use it? I don't even know the history of that sign as a supremacy sign.

Then why is there such a backlash against this beautiful young lady (for not being black enough)?
I don't get the culture

Wait, you've never seen black people rail on each other for being too black or too white?

An historical black frat yes? I don't know of a black frat that doesn't or hasn't let nonblack members into their frats...
I know countless latinas that are AKA or Deltas. We have a federal judge that is puerto rican and he's a Nupe.
I don't know what you're trying to get at?

she and the girl in orange are pretty hot

i didn't expect you would...i will simplify it. Why is ok for blacks to try to exclude other races and it not be considered racist?

I was going to make a smartass comment about why no Miss Asian America contest but found out there is such a thing .

I don't get the culture
Colorism and jealously. most non white races have huge problems with colorism.
Mezitos dog the darker, Aztec/less mixed Mexicans
North Indians/Punjabi quarrel with South Indians because they are darker
Chinese/Japanese frown upon darker Chinese and Japanese folks
Black folks tend to prop up their mixed gals with long hair and fairer skin.
There aren't many positive reinforcements for attractive dark skin black women. Society basically tells them they aren't pretty enough, or that they look manly or that their natural curly and kinky hair is not comparable to long straight hair. When they are deemed attractive...there always seems to be a disclaimer; "Pretty for a black girl", "black but pretty" etc.
This is part 1

They aren't excluding anyone. You know why those paegants were started? Because black girls of all shades were told they weren't pretty enough and weren't allowed to compete. So they created their own and just held up the tradition today.
And let's be honest, say we get away with minority paegants --- will we see the paegants demographics shift away from the few token minority girls?
If you want to join a historically black frat, there is no one stopping you.

I have never understood this because if there was a White Miss America contest, or White Entertainment Television, etc there would be a HUGE uproar. It's the same excuse every time this is brought up too. "You already have those things with CMT, regular Miss America, etc", which are all inclusive, yet have a [insert ethnicity] only contest is fine as long as that ethnicity isn't caucasian.

black traditions are ok but white traditions aren't...and you don't see the hypocrisy?

What would be fair? the same percentage as the population for every race?

The majority of white people wouldn't b/c they are historically black and we are ok with the premise of that. Unfortunately if white people do it or white men want to exclude women from clubs (the Masters) it is wrong. I don't see many white men or men in general trying to be included in women only groups.

White people unfortunately have a history of racial discrimination against other non white groups in this country. Other groups don't have that history in this country to the same scale.
What do people not get about fhat? I'm very confused.

4 out of 5 are light-skinned. Sounds to me like some pageant judges were discriminating.
