Has anyone watched "Fyre Festival" on Netflix yet? This guy is insane..

quote:

It’s hard to think of any disaster more simultaneously hilarious and terrible than Fyre Festival, the 2017 “Woodstock for millennials” that turned out to be more like The Hunger Games: Influencers Edition. On the one hand, there were delightful doses of Schadenfreude ripe for the picking: images of rich people scrambling to hoard wet mattresses and crying over the cold cheese and plain bread that replaced the gourmet cuisine they had been promised when they spent obscene amounts of money on tickets. But there was a darker side to the story: hundreds of local contractors in the Bahamas, where the event was held, were completely ripped off after the festival dissolved into a catastrophe. Fyre co-founder Billy McFarland abandoned them without payment for months of labor when the whole thing went haywire.

quote:

So while it was obviously easy fodder for Twitter jokes, the Fyre Festival saga also has plenty to do with class divides, the justice system, and, yes, the ways in which in which social-media obsession has led some people to prioritize image over reality—even when doing so comes at a steep psychological price.

As soon as he made bail for the frye festival scam, he started a new scam. It was like he thought he was untouchable.

Hulu also has a documentary. He’s interviewed in that one.

He is now in the same prison as Mike “The Situation” from Jersey Shore, and Michael Cohen, Trump’s lawyer, will be joining them soon.

Is there a special jail just for certified douches?

That's what I was thinking. They were not there just because.

I don't know how I missed this quite literal shite show in real time. I was sick during that time so I guess that's it. But I can't believe I missed discussion on here.

Everything about pretty much everyone evolved except the Weinstein guy, the Asian girl, and the Italian guy, really, disgusted and yet thrilled me. I loved the compilation of farks making fun of the millennials who bought tix and loaded wristbands.

Edit: the locals are the ones who got screwed the worst. That rental car lady was my favorite person on the doc, come to think of it.

Apparently there were people who loaded as much as $800k on the wristbands. I don't care how rich I am, I am not going to blow $800k at a music festival just on whatever..

About half way through with the doc. Will finish it here in a little bit. How did these dumbasses think they could pull the festival off? The logistics of that are insane.

As much as I feel for some of the employees, almost all of them were sold on Mcfarland’s bS and the average person with their skill set would have bailed much earlier.

As much as a douche and criminal McFarland is, some of those Manhattan guys that whine and bitch about what happened have to be in the bottom 1% of douche bags in the world. Those guys are unbelievably jealous losers. The one guy in the Netflix doc didn’t even plan on going or have tickets and still made his own website against the whole thing? Lol, what a piece of crap.

Didn't watch the doc, but weren't the vast vast majority of tickets sold the cheap early bird tickets?

I thought I saw something that most of the tickets sold were for a couple thousand or less. That's cheap as frick for what fyre was supposed to be.

I think some people even got tickets for like 500

I saw it and those Instagram ho's like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner should have to pay up. They are getting sued for getting paid to promote it.
