I kinda feel like this should happen before actually legalizing it. But honestly I don't know enough about current testing to feel very strongly about it.

They get plenty of this already. And have for decades.

We have far bigger issues to address from a LEO perspective. Move it off the DEA Schedule 1 and decriminalize it. Period.

was a huge mistake by Trump not to push for this his last year in office.

He publicly said once that he probably would be willing to sign off on a medical marijuana bill if congress would send one to him.

The democrat controlled congress would not because of politics, they didn't want Trump to get credit for it

That’s in part because many lawmakers from states with legal markets don’t yet support substantial changes to federal law. Democratic Sen. Jon Tester, for example, represents a state where weed is legal — Montana — and says he does not support federal decriminalization.

This is fricking stupid.

Why? I will never understand the pro-weed crowd with their "do whatever you want, just make it legal" stance. Shouldn't you want it marketed like every other legal vice? Why "tax the shite out of it" and "just make growing it illegal"?

I’m really how this will apply to companies with drug tests?

Obviously, you can’t drink or smoke will at work. I’m fine with that but if someone wants to eat a gummy at the house, there isn’t much they can say

What about the half of the term when his party had a majority in both chambers? Why couldn’t the author of, The Art of the Deal, make a deal?

Read the law.

1) It makes growing illegal. For what purpose?
2) It regulates who can sell based on race. Why?

This is as idiotic as all the other bullshite coming from Congress.

I don't understand this. If I grow a garden.. Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, etc.. why can't I grow marijuana? I mean I know why.. But I think its dumb that it is illegal to grow a plant that isn't dangerous to its environment (I know there are certain plants that certain states don't allow people to grow. I want to say in California and Oregon it is illegal to grow sugarcane).

The only reason marijuana became illegal was because in the 1930s it gave them a reason to arrest Mexicans (I guess so if they were illegal they could ship them back to Mexico?).. But they should adjust to the times and legalize marijuana and make it illegal to put stuffed animals across your dash board.

What about the other half of the term? The democrats could have put forth a bill. They did not.

Louisiana law goes into effect 8/1 protecting state workers who have a medical prescription. Authors of the bill said they hope to be able to expand it to cover private businesses next session.

And that is why people hate congress, that put stupid bullshite in bills like that so it doesn't pass, so they can get little subgroup brownie points.

The bill could be two sentences:

"Cannabis is decriminalized at the Federal level for recreational use. States do whatever you want."

The most criminal aspect of marijuana is that is still classified along side heroin and LSD as a Schedule I narcotic

I think possession (a quarter pound or less) and use of weed should be legal, as well as personal manufacture, I don't know, ten plants? I do not agree with big corporate farms growing weed to be packaged and sold at the local Chevron to the lottery ticket crowd and grape flavored blunt wrapper folk.

From the article

quote:

But the votes aren’t yet there to pass Schumer’s bill on Capitol Hill.
That’s in part because many lawmakers from states with legal markets don’t yet support substantial changes to federal law. Democratic Sen. Jon Tester, for example, represents a state where weed is legal — Montana — and says he does not support federal decriminalization. A handful of other Democrats told POLITICO that they are against legalization or are undecided, including Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Bob Casey (D-Pa.). Schumer would need all Democrats, plus ten Republicans, to get the bill over the finish line.
