I wouldn't tell him about the footage you have. Just tell him someone told you he stole the bike and you want it back. If he comes clean, then let him off the hook. If he gives you any gruff, 911.
We've all made dumbass mistakes as a kid. If he owns up to it and returns the bike, you'd teach him a life long lesson.

What did he use to cut the lock?
I've never seen bolt cutters lying around in a restaurant.

If you allow this behavior to continue, how will he ever learn? Call the cops

Pay him a 100 bucks to get it back

The guy on the left can help you out!
Shameless!

Follow him home one night. When he gets to his door, pull a gun on his head and demand the bike back or things will get uglier for him. after he explains how he pawned it, shoot in the kneecap.
That's how a real man settles it.

Get in touch with the kid. Have him return the bike. Give him the choice punch to the face, gut or cops

Not letting him learn the consequences of his actions is enabling and will play a part in ruining his life forever. If he doesn't suffer some consequence, what lesson will he learn about taking other people's stuff?

Beat the shite out of him.

before numbnuts pawns it for $100 thats why I worry the cops would take forever to do something

Chances are the bike is already sold for drugs, and you will never get it back.
21 is a grown man. Call the cops. You have the evidence.

Then confront him and give him a chance to return it.
If he doesn't, get the cops involved.
Obviously, make sure you have a copy of the security footage.

So last night I had my bike stolen. Someone cut the lock at our condo and drove off with it. So I spent a little bit with building security to look over all the footage and we found who stole it, a kid who works at a restaurant under the building. He has a fob to go in and out of the garage bc thats where all the commercial tenants park also. He happens to not have a car but still has a fob and the genius was wearing his work shirt while he rode off on my bike ...you have to go through security in/out unless you work at one of the restaurants downstairs you have a side door to the street you can exit from.
Anyways we know from the manager of the business that he's a 21 year old kid but the manager doesn't know how he's gonna get my bike back, so would you call the police and file a report or would you wait and see if the manager can do something???

This is not a difficult decision, man.

Dudes 21, he's not a kid. If it were some 15 year old I'd maybe have some sympathy but that fricker is an adult. Call the cops, he deserves it

File police charge, get bike back and then you can drop charges if you heart is that soft.

some of these replies will have you going to jail instead of the kid. I would call the police period, especially since he came with boltcutters. Not his first time.
the longer you wait, the less chance you have of getting it back
