This is what's wrong with today's generation.. Grow some nuts and turn this ADULT in.. How much was your bike worth? If it's over 500 then wouldn't that make it a felony...

The fact that you have to go on a message board and ask for help with this situation tells me all i need to know about you. Just let him keep the bike. You need to walk until you can grow some balls

Meh, he is compassionate, although that compassion is misplaced in this instance.

I understand the sentiment of just wanting your bike back and no more trouble, but once you come to the conclusion that you'll never see that bike again, and you won't, I promise, then you'll have no qualms about calling the cops.

He probably sold the bike for a small amount of money. The bike is gone. I would beat him to a pulp.

frick all these dumb comments.

Walk straight up to him and stand about 5 feet away and sternly but calmly say "Bike." When he acts like he doesn't know what you are talking about interrupt and say "Bike" again. Anything he says respond with "Bike." After a few times just point to the garage and say "video"......"bike or $500"......"6pm tomorrow"......"or cops." Walk off.

Why did you come here if you have no intention of doing anything. The manager is going to keep him? I would report him and let the chips fall where they may.

well I filed a police report now. The manager had gotten in touch with the kids mom and she told him the kid was on his way to the store with the bike and was very sorry and for me to go down and meet him there. I waited 45 minutes at the restaurant for the kid and he didn't show up, so I filed a police report, I hope he gets hisl after this whole debacle, I dont know why I felt bad

Not your fault, I had a neighbors child scratch the shite out of my truck that we are looking to trade in soon. The neighbor kids were playing with the other one and came and knocked on my door when it happened. At first was thinking ah shite that's fine, but it was pretty deep an long across the front fender from where she ran her bike handle across it.

Went and talked to the mom about it and she said she was going to talk to her daughter and get back to me that night. She never did.

Tried to stop by her house the next day, no answer, tried the following day, no answer.

After that called the local police, had them come deal with it, she gave me cash for the repairs within that week.

Easy shite, and had she not been evasive about the entire thing I would have split it with her since shite happens

If he just needed a ride, it seems interesting that he had no plans to return the bike. Give him a time to return it by or else you are calling the cops.

This attitude is so prevalent in that type of community though. Look at that recent event where the teen was killed breaking and entering, and his family said, "She shouldn't have shot him dead, how is he supposed to get money for clothes and stuff if he can't steal?"

I agree, it's totally fricked, but it's not like this attitude is new. There are generations who teach this mindset to the following generations... rinse and repeat. Why do you think they stay in poverty? You can't tell me that people can come to this country broke, not knowing the language, and in 10 years be successful and living in the burbs and making six figures, but these jackasses can't after being born here, even if it is into poverty.

Tell the kid to buy you a new lock while he's at it. Then when (if) he shows up with your bike and your new lock, make sure the police are waiting for him. Because frick him.
