My life story. At the same time I'm glad I didn't act on those opportunities I was too slow, dumb, inexperienced (scared), or "noble" to take advantage of. My life would likely have taken some different turns - not necessarily better and likely not - and I'm very blessed and happy with my wife and our life together. So the past is the past. It can stay there, along with any regrets.

I had my share of missed opportunities back in the day. Why, oh why aren't the signals as obvious in the moment as they are later on? This thread has actually made me feel better about my younger years to know I wasn't the only one who looked a gift horse in the mouth and unwittingly walked away

I was working valet at a casino back when I was in college. There was a big tit brunette milf who was a regular and was always wearing low cut tops and tight dresses. Well I knew her car so I would try to be the one to park it whenever I had the chance. We would chit chat some while I was handing her the ticket or after I brought up the car. Well one night she comes out of the casino and I bring up her car. She tells me that she had rented a chalet that night at the casino but she had forgotten to pack her pajamas and she was gonna have to sleep in the nude, all the while why she is holding on to my wrist and pushing her big tits against me. She even tells me the number of the chalet she was in. Well my dumb arse proceeds to go to the bar room an hour later when I got off and drink with my friends instead of getting the obvious hint. I see her the next weekend and she asks me why I didn't come visit her the previous weekend.

neighbor across the street in HS was this tiny tan thing with a six pack (yes I totally thought she was out of my league) we were friends for a while and she had broken up with the a-hole bf a few months prior.

Driving her back to her house from some where she went to get out and i said something that made her stop getting out and turn around we locked eyes for a solid 5 seconds, and I chickened out.

Later found out she wanted me all along and could have had my way with her.

Junior year in college and it's finals time. There was this hot chick that I had started to try to get to know all year with limited success. In the latter part of the semester I finally found something we connected on, music. We ended up spending time eating lunch and talking music a lot. I was totally thinking I was friend zoned because she was WAY out of my league. About two weeks before finals she gave me a CD as a gift for helping her study and asked me if I wanted to come over the day before the final for one last study session. I said sure and thanked her for the CD. The CD she gave me was one I already owned but I didn't want to hurt her feelings so I didn't tell her, but just threw the CD in my backpack.

Two weeks pass and we are at her apartment studying and she asked me if I had been listening to her CD. I say "yep! It's great!" and we talk about the songs and the band. I had owned this CD a while so I knew all about them. Throughout the conversation she has this strange look on her face, but I hardly notice and we get back to studying. I leave and go about my dumbass way.


Finals come and go and summer hits. I never think to call her since she lived in Covington and went home for the summer. Fall classes roll around and I am going through my backpack and find the CD. For some reason I decide to open it up. In the liner notes she's written this very sweet message about how special she thinks I am, how she's really liked getting to know me this semester. And how she hopes to truly get to know me, and allow her to let me get to know her in an intimate way when we study for finals.

It's probably the closest I've ever come to self harm. I just sat there kicking myself for my stupidity.
