Announcing the commission of a new task force to look into conducting a study to see if NOLA needs a council on human issues and poverty. Lunch will be provided.

I was going to stick around but had to roll out. Lots of NOPD and media. They all waiting on Madam Latoya to come to the podium.

I think they’re going to announce some big arrest

mayorcantrellWe have all had times in our lives where we need to take a moment to breathe or need a helping hand. Stress is killing our community. We opened the meditation room at City Hall today for anyone who needs help. Counselors and members of the faith based community will be available to meet you where you are

mayorcantrellMaking bike registration optional rather than mandatory gives our residents some needed relief from ticketing and heavy fines. I was happy to work with Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer on this modification, after we both heard from residents who found the old process too burdensome. The new ordinance accomplishes several goals: Moves the bike registration process from NOPD to the Department of Safety and Permits; Allows registration to be administered at “satellite” locations like bike shops; Removes the mandatory requirement; Provides that a sticker will be added to the bike/vehicle; Increases the registration fee from $3 to $5; Sets an effective date of Jan. 1, 2019 The change will benefit the bike-riding community by preventing cyclists from being ticketed for lack of registration, and will make the registration process easier for residents. The Department of Safety and Permits handles multiple types of licenses and is well-positioned to administer this additional license. @noladistrictc #CityOfYes

I don't think the Charity is in Orleans Parish, and the Feds are involved with that, not a city or Parish gov't.
