Heard this was coming. Their enrollment was shrinking, costs were rising, and they didn’t want to adopt the route changes.

The parades are shite. The floats are shite. The bands are shite. The floats are all poorly designed and poorly decorated. There’s no artistry at all. Literally all of them share floats. Ceaser was the closest thing to an uptown Krewe they had.
There is literally zero draw to go see it. Most of the parades have now gone to corporate sponsorship. I noticed Argus did this a few years ago.
Everyone that has money in Metairie rides In Endymion.

I understand your concern but try finding a spot Riverside of St. Charles, closer to where the parades start uptown next time.

This is what I don't understand. Why were they so against the route change? You are pretty much losing about a mile of route (which was too long anyways) otherwise just going in the opposite direction.

The bands want more money than the dancing groups do... especially the lesser-known dance groups. A number of them don't want any money at all. They are just glad to participate.
Do the junior high public schools in JP not have bands, cheerleaders, dance groups, etc? I know in Slidell, a lot of the middle schools have them (and some of the elementary schools as well) and they march in the parades. It's better than some 7 person "dance group" blasting crappy rap music and the fact that the kids are in the parade brings out their families to the route. St. Bernard does this for their one parade as well.

I talked to a former officer in the crew. The route change and uncertainty was just a little part of it. Rising cost such and insurance, permits, etc and dealing with so much bullshite from the politicians was a part too.
This was the only good parade in Metairie. Even though I live right off the parade route in Metairie, I may do all of my parade watching in Nola next year.

Bee Rye is correct in this debate. Thoth along that beginning stretch is very good. When I don’t ride, that is my favorite day of the year due to easy parking, less traffic, and smaller crowds in that area
