Louisville is the capital of “Kentuckiana,” sharing its metro area with Indiana. It isn’t even within the Bluegrass region. Far too many linebeards and hoosiers in that mass of humanity to be the capital of the Commonwealth.

I live in the Richmond, VA metro area and considering there is about 16,000 more people here than NOLA, there isnt shite to do here! They onky have a AA baseball team and some minor league indoor football team that plays in an arena that was built in 1973. VA Beach is the largest city in Virginia btw, and Hampton Roads is the largest metro.

Yea, this is definitely your bias showing through.
Louisville was one of the 15 largest cities and metro areas in the country for a good portion of this country's history. It is the economic center of the state by a good long shot. It should have been the capital. It was as large as Atlanta fifty years ago and as large as Nashville just twenty-five years ago.
Your kind of thinking is exactly why the state has been backwards as hell forever. It isn't "representative". Get out of here with that. Nearly a third of the state lives in Louisville metro. That's plenty "representative".

Of course a city you hear a bunch about but never hear how big it is: Las Vegas metro is 2.2M and top 30, combine tourists and Nellis and its top 20 at any given time. An enourmous population in the middle of nothingness.

If this was about big cities I have no interest in ever visiting, it would be Portland.
But I am looking at a list of the top 100 largest cities in the US... And here are a few we don't hear much about.

Except for Laredo, those are all suburbs in major metro areas (Phoenix, Miami, and Las Vegas, respectively). You don't hear much about Aurora, Illinois, either, but it's fairly large.

I don't mind the population growth in Northwest Arkansas.
My only problem is the infrastructure is terrible. I don't think they ever expected this many people re locating here.
They have almost completed the 6 lane interstate project, but once you get into Bentonville, Rogers, Fayetteville, and Springdale, traffic is unbearable. Everything runs into a stop light, the access to the interstates is so poor that one maybe two semis can take up the entire turn lane. Which backs traffic up a mile.
It's only going to get worse I'm afraid.
