On Friday, the Chamber of Southwest Louisiana announced a new proposal for a new I-10 bridge. The proposed design would exist north of and parallel to the current I-10 bridge. Consisting of six lanes, modern lighting, walking/bike paths, 73-foot clearance, and shoulders.

The proposal would cost between $400 and $600 million and include an entrance and exit into Westlake over the railroad.

This is the new bridge architecture being used in the North, like the new Tappan Zee Bridge. BR should definitely be the one to get this and make it tolled. It'll pay for itself and keep the mouth breathing riff raff off.

What in sam hell frick would walking/bike paths achieve? Who is going to walk/bike between Westlake and the vacant casino parking garage? Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.

They purposely chose a sit on your arse occupation. They aren’t walking anywhere. Hell they use bikes in the plants because walking is too strenuous.

Location; Lewzianer.
Toll money; it will go into someone's pocket. No chance in hell it will used for the bridge maintenance.

To be fair, the bikes aren't there so they don't have to walk. Plants are big, so the bikes save labor costs in getting from place to place. Otherwise, the plants wouldn't have them. They also don't have an engine to ingest flammable gas in a loss of containment, so they can't backfire or over-rev to blow the fricking place sky high.

The ignition point in the 2005 explosion at BP's Texas City refinery was a crew truck that breathed in the leaking fumes, over-revved, and backfired.

I love the pistols.

You will never see anything like that again on a public structure.

How will the rolling work on a cross country interstate?

Seems like a lot of processing costs or a long line
