Older gentleman in a Lincoln Continental looks like his car met a bicyclist in between Essen Lane and Fairway Drive.

Only saw the bike, not the person. Ambulance and police on scene.

Exactly. Getting anywhere near Essen as a pedestrian or a cyclist should be considered a death wish.

Why do people ride bicycles on roadways with 5 lanes and 45 MPH speed limits?

I have a friend that lives near bocage and bikes to river road down Essen or similar - I often worry about him. I think he does this early Saturday morning before the traffic gets bad.

Soon to be followed by a Memorial Ride and demands that the 99.99995% of cars on the road cede an entire lane for the 0.00005% of bicycle traffic.

Back in 2010 the GF hit a crackhead on a bike in a Walgreens parking lot at 3am.

When she got out to see if he was okay, the guy bounced back up and took off running leaving the bike.

Maybe that’s the only transportation they have to get to a job. Not everyone can afford cars.

It's not that they are riding a bike. It's that they are riding a bike on a major highway in the city with heavy vehicle traffic
