Eh.

When you write as many songs as he has, you're going to have duds.

But then you also have songs like Yesterday, Blackbird, Let It Be, My Love, amongst others.

He's our greatest living songwriter IMO.

Comparing Post Malone to Beyonce is beyond stupid. You've obviously never listened to him play guitar and sing a country song, solo. He actually has talent, even if you don't like him.

I’ve listened. The only comparison I’m making is that neither of them are country and both ventured into produced country music. That doesn’t make it country music. He’s talented and I have no issues with the man.

Never even heard of him. But, even so, Willie is still kicking.

I’m not sure it’s fair to equate the two. Madonna became a household name because, for the time, she had a groundbreaking, cutting edge act. I don’t recall anyone ever claiming that she’s an all-timer because of the quality of her music.

Madonna’s music was nothing special or different other than she openly acted like a whore. If not for the over the top whorishness of her act, she’d have been forgotten decades ago.

She was never the best looking performer. She was never the best performer. Her songs were never anything special. The only that that made her stand out is she behaved more like a whore than all the other female performers in the 80s.

My point is it won a best country album grammy besides not being popular with country music fans.

I get that It was popular on iheart and apple music. From the little I listened to of the songs, it really wasn’t very good. But its Beyonce

Never thought Madonna was good looking - certainly not to the level of hype.

I thought she was when I stumbled across my dad’s Penthouse collection in his shed when I was a kid.

Agreed. Like her music or not, Madonna at the height of her fame was a global star as big as Michael Jackson at the time.

I'd put Dolly Parton in Costello's spot.

I'm not a Dylan guy but I'm good with him in that spot. You could make an argument for Billy Joel over Dylan.

Post Malone grew up in Dallas and listened to country music. He likes and performs all kinds of music. He’s complete different from Beyoncé

I just read that whole article. I can't believe that people financed their tickets to attend Coachella.

You could make an argument for Billy Joel over Dylan. "

It would be a damn foolish argument. Billy Joel is on no where the level as Bob Dylan in regard to writing song lyrics. Few are.

Honestly, the best songwriter is likely one that doesn't perform.

Some prolific guys out there with credits for big Hits you've never even heard of

Just because you slip on a pair of western boots and a cowboy hat doesn't make you country. Country music is about authenticity. If you ain't..you can't! There's no faking it.

There is no adult contemporary music now. So any kind of soft rock music is classified as country music.

She is an older married woman with kids and she had to refigure her image. She's from Texas and probably likes some country music, so she took a shot. It worked for Darius Rucker. Jury is still out. I liked some earlier Beyonce music and believe she is an underrated singer. It's hard to stay famous for multiple decades..

Its all in the eyes of the beholder. I like Billy Joel but never did care much for Bob Dylan. To say BJ is no where near BD as songwriter is just dumb.
