Mesovorticies do some wild stuff and you don't tend to get them unless you have a powerful and strengthening near landfall hurricane.
Michael was amazing. There were five or six picked up on radar. The freaky thing was watching them consolidate into the eye just adding to the strengthening. I remember the damn eye looking almost square at some points. There are some good gifs of it, but I haven't figured out how to post those yet.

Facebook link but it shows mesovortices and flock of birds
Wow this video needs to be played for people who think they should stay during a hurricane. Michael was a beast. Mother Nature is a bitch

Currently the cone is between mississippi and mexico?

Dammit I wanted to be in the cone now to avoid the inevitable shifts coming

I know, right. Areas inside the cone have been pretty safe lately. I’ve been in the almost direct path of the last 2 hurricanes, when they were about 72 hours out, and I got little to nothing at landfall.

I don’t like the swing back north that that makes at the end of the 5 day forecast.

That’s a lot of rain straddling the coastline from NOLA to Mexico.

Its over 7 days though. 10” of rain is manageable over 7 days

Is there a cold front that is causing it downgrade from a hurricane to a TS in the 5 day forecast? Or what do they think will cause it to weaken?

Dry air from cold front

I've seen this movie before. A week before we lost Orange Beach. Don't trust these people.

There was no cold front before Sally

Exactly. There was supposed to be though. Ask yourself what happened there and you may start to see what's really going on.
