Best way to get over someone is to get on top of someone else.

Depends on how old you are. If you are a teenager, the feelings of rejection are new and fleeting.
If you are in your twenties, rejection can help you decide what you most truly care about in life. Your priorities. Plus you are still in sexual prime and many ladies in their twenties are still hot and single.
Grief is normal when a loss occurs. Allow yourself to grieve but understand that another person cannot make you happy or unhappy. Your thoughts control your emotions and you must deal with problems of unhappiness with unbiased logic. Attachment to an old flame can hurt bad but can be overcome when you stop longing for others to give you enjoyment, security, or inner peace. Easier said than done. Trust me. Exercise and taking small steps each day is a good way to combat depression. Allow yourself to feel pain but use positive self talk to comfort yourself. A good therapist can help too.

Like....you asked a chick out and she said no, or your gf of however many years was getting dicked down while you were at work?

Find a hobby you've put off taking up or exploring over the years, and pursue it passionately with nothing to lose.

Go out with the guys for drinks and laugh about some of the pathetic things some dudes do over women, stories, etc.
Remember this, most women begin their decline far earlier than the average man. They have to live with that reality.

Seriously though. Playing games and reading are good ways to get your mind off her. Going to the gym does that as well, PLUS you burn off those emotional waves of sadness and fuel the workout with them.
That builds confidence, and gets you looking better. Plus, there's always the chance you'll meet some cardiobunny.

that sucks, sorry dude
honestly, it's just gonna take some time. Stay busy. Lean on your friends. Watch a new movie, maybe a comedy. Go for a run. Just keep distracting yourself.

Rejection is a useful tool to help improve yourself. No one is perfect and even our critics can be useful.
