Is getting it cut out by a doctor considered surgery? It's been a long time since I had one, but I feel like it didn't take more than 15 minutes.

Pry it out, small piece of balled up cotton under it, clip them straight across next time. If it's too severe you have to get surgery, but it's not bad at all

Depends on how bad it is. You could just wait it out or chew it out.

Been there. Podiatrist. Not kidding. Spent 10 years trying to avoid it, but finally went. Best move ever.

Pay a hooker to suck on it. Toe should fall off within 6-8 weeks

File the center of the nail from the skin to the edge to soften the "top" of the nail, the nail will draw up from each side to the center and then thicken in the center over time where you filed, the filed area should be 1/8" wide, chances are good for infection if you clip or dig each edge

I think I have an ingrown finger nail. I can see the end of my nail. But along the side of my fingernail its swollen and sensitive. I thought it may have been from getting poked by a shrimp, but that was days ago and they usually don't bother me. What say the ot.

This. I went to a podiatrist as soon as I got my first real job and health insurance.

I would get ingrown toenails 2-3x per year. The student clinic would remove them for free, but my insurance wouldn't cover surgery. Got survey and haven't had an ingrown toenail in almost 20 years.

Cut a "v" in the middle of the toenail's exposed edge. You will probably need a razor blade or exacto knife for this, although I've done it with clippers. Doesn't need to be anything big. The nail will grow towards the center and away from the edges.

Same as the suggestion for filing it.

Read somewhere that someone is offering $10 million for a foot. It's something to keep in mind since you'll be having surgery anyway.
