Had those things happen with my kid. Told her to hit back and/or tell the teacher. She did both. Bully still a bit of an issue. I finally got to meet the bully and figured out the bully is just kind of a big Shirley looking rolltide style retard. So basically going with avoid now and it's working out. When I get to see her parents I'll figure it out or fight them in the parking lot.

Are they in the same class? If so, have your kid pour water on the bully during naptime. Then your kid can point out to everyone how that little bastard pissed his pants. Embarrass him.

This really depends on the age of the bully. If it's a young kid, like you were dealing with, then I'd probably talk to the teacher and let her handle it. I had a little different issue several years ago. My (then 7 years old) son complained to me that a boy on the bus (13 years old) had punched him n the back several weeks earlier. I told him to let me know if it ever happened again. Long story short...it happened again a week later and I made the boys dad poop his pants. Problem solved.

Tell your kid not to let anyone push him around and ignore the dumbass kid who just wants attention. They'll probably end up being friends by the end of the year.
In my experience, avoid bureaucratic entanglements at all cost.
