Spent a couple of long layovers (12+ hours) at Narita in Japan. Plenty enough time to take a train into downtown Tokyo. The airport itself was nothing too special but as clean as frick and the shop girls were kind of cute.

i never understood why the airport bar was the easiest place to get digits.
Because just about everyone there is getting blitzed to take their mind off of being stuck in an airport or flying.

Four hour layer over in Philly, coming back from Desert Storm. I came back with 10 other guys the day after my company left (made sure the equipment was loaded).
About 5 of us went to the restaurant/bar. By the time we had to leave, we had about 50 pre-paid drinks waiting on us (plus the MANY that we drank already). We all had giant steak dinners, etc., all paid by unknown people.
We told the bartender to hold the rest of the paid for drinks for other soldiers coming back.

Not necessarily my "best time" but a csb airport story nonetheless.
Two friends and I were at DFW awaiting our flight to Mexico City to attend the Mexican Grand Prix. At a distance down the concourse I saw a big guy wearing a Team Williams jacket walking alongside a small fellow in a grey suit. I jokingly said "hey guys, who's this guy coming this way, Nigel Mansell?" As they got closer we realized the big guy was security and the small guy was in fact Nigel Mansell.
We decided to go to the men's room to take a leak just prior to boarding. In the men's room the security guy was manning his post in front of one of the stalls while Mansell was taking a dump. Poor guy.
Mansell and bodyguard flew first class while we commoners flew coach. Didn't see him again until we got to the track.

Back when I was 13-14 my friends and I used to ride our bikes to the Pittsburgh Airport. We'd return the luggage carts that people would leave sitting around all over the parking lots and return them for 25 cents a pop. Then we'd go to the airport arcade which was badass and spend our earnings.

On a layover at ATL years ago sitting drunk at the bar and talking to this impossibly nice, yet very hot Canadian chick.

Was drunk and tripped at Little Rock National and then later in the day at Phoenix.

Actually hung out with a girl I met at the BTR bar (pre-remodel) for a while. She was a frequent traveler so it worked out well for what it was.

I took a dump in O'Hare once and was fascinated by the automatic spin around seat cover loader. I even sat down again.

Wasn't able to get pics/video but me and a few buddies saw a couple going at it. Not sure if they thought they were in private or didn't care. I'm guessing didn't care.

Completely forgot about those, I didn't know what to do the first time I experienced it

Pounding beers and eating space cakes that I somehow got through security at AMS. Was a very mellow 8 hour flight from there to ATL.

I got drunk on a flight to Key West only to be handed another drink as I walked off the plane onto the runway. Was a good trip.
