Not reading through the entire thread, but the guy who started off each class with "It's a GREAT day for Anthropology! Thank you for joining me."

Karl Roider, history. I took Western Civ my first semester at LSU. He was very entertaining and was one of those guys who told you to put your pencils down so he could just tell a story.
It was said he was one of the world's leading experts on Vlad the Impaler and loved talking about him.
In his junior/senior level history classes he always used the last lecture of the semester to show some quirky film and asked everyone to bring champagne and snacks (this was the 80's--try getting away with that today!).
I practically got a minor in History just taking every class he taught when it fit into my schedule. "History of the Balkans" or "History of Eastern Europe from 1917-Present". It could have been "History of Sewers in Belgrade" and I would have taken it.

David Johnson and Willie Staats in Econ. Johnson’s Econ class was 1:30 long and we had 10 students in it. He’d call out a students name. Then he’d take out his pipe and pack in some tobacco. Light it and then take a few puffs. Probably took a minute in total. Then he’s ask the student the question. Made you pay attention!
Kevin Mulcahy in Poli Sci. Loved his classes.

Barbara DANOS - fantastic BLAW teacher and almost convinced me to go to Law School after MBA School. I'll never forget, after the first week or two of the semester, she already had everyone's last name memorized. During the lecture, she would randomly call out names to answer her questions using "Mr./Mrs. Last Name". Needless to say, it was a wise choice to keep up with the reading assignments.

Sauley and Karam were great. Bucky Kilbourne is the man. Kirby has as much personality as a doorknob.
and someone in here said glenn sumners what a joke
