How does the Jeep Grand Cherokee fit in here? I need something in the future that can handle snow/ice and a rough gravel road.

We also just got a new CX90 and love it so far, only thing is the seat belt dinging sound gets annoying.

Hyundai and Kia are out of the running, she refuses either.

Volkswagen makes solid vehicles.

Genesis (not Hyundai) GV70. Wife recently got a 22 for around $35k. Prestige trim has pretty much every bell and whistle you could think of plus more. Driver side massage seats too lol. 300hp.

The Hyundai Sante Fe looks almost exactly like a Land Rover. But I guess she’s looking for a status symbol and not a reliable vehicle

Chevy Traverse. Those things have more room than the Acadia.

The Rav4 is a smaller midsized and I think you can get them trimmed out nicely under 50k.
You can get a Pathfinder or Rogue for under that, especially if you go 2wd.
You can find a new Honda Pilot for under 50k but you will be maxing your budget but they are a bigger SUV, nearly a full sized and has as much leg room as a Tahoe.

Right. Bought my granddaughter a 2023 Kia Sportage, and its a fine SUV. Also does better than most American mgs in reliability rankings.

On paper, they absolutely are.
However, I had a 22 Kia Sorento that I really liked (and is a tremendous value as well), but it had weird quality control/fit n finish issues I never experienced with another brand, and I doubt I'd buy Korean again.
Under $50k, I do like the idea of a cpo luxury vehicle.
Also, the current gen pathfinder is a good option and is one of the last in the segment with a v6. IMO, it has the best exterior aesthetics of any midsize non luxury SUV.

If she won’t do those two, 2024 VW atlas with technology will give you more features for your buck like third row seats and leather. It’s boxy and not car like as well.
Just bought one today after having similar requests from wife. Traded in a 2019 one.
I believe Four runner is changing body style this year so you can maybe get one in the price range if you don’t care. Check.

I was looking at the 25 GMC Acadia, etc. She'd love a 4Runner but we're not OT ballers. She will keep this vehicle 10+ yrs, so something reliable..
10+ years rules anything but Honda/Toyota. I'd look for a 4Runner 2-4 years old with 50k on it. It's going to ride a little rougher.

We bought one last year and really love it. We only have one kid though.

Your wife wants her status symbol car. Good luck trying to convince her otherwise
