When he hit the guitar solo on Purple Rain and it literally starts raining at that moment.

Yeah that was pretty bad arse. I read something about how they didn't even prepare for having to perform in the rain and Prince had to make his own adjustments and it ended up being even better than how it was choreographed.

Also, if I recall they said the rain and him playing purple rain wouldn't have been that perfect if they planned for it.

I would imagine now people would bitch about some weirdo onstage dancing and not being relatable to 60 year olds.

Or maybe that he was a fricking serial child molester.

No, that would be Bob Geldof.

Weak performance, helluva artist. I mean the dude put out $7M out of his own pocket to put something together. Audio engineer made it sound shitty, but yeah, some decent transitions... Overall, C+

At least last year I could complain about the over sexualized dance routines. I don't even know what to complain about with this. It's just so....meh.

Best is the Janet Jackson titty.

You can’t top a titty on live TV.

I’m sure a 70 year old said the same thing about Britney Spears and Aerosmith halftime show in 2001.

It literally rained as Prince sang Purple Rain. It doesn't get any better that that.

I am amazed at the crap that passes for music these days.

I’m 100% with you, but The Weeknd is not anywhere near where that sentiment comes from for me. His music is fairly normal and he has a good voice, even if it’s not your style.

Although if this live performance is the first time you’ve heard any of his music, that’s different. Live music never sounds right.

I used to like when Beavis and Butt-head would come on MTV during the half time show for the Butt-Bowl.

Agreed. I'm an almost middle-aged white guy, and I like a good bit of The Weeknd's music. He's not the most compelling live performer though.
