All the ones today have the brown soles. Royal started that years ago. The best ones IMO had a white sole of the same material of the upper boot. Those were lightweight. City slickers call them all the cutesy,silly names. Real coonasses call them shrimp boots.

I’ve got a pair of the White uniroyals that I’ve had since the mid-80s and they’re still going strong. Granted I don’t use them near as much since I moved to Georgia but they still come out occasionally to pressure wash.

True. Now the real story about them. Many years ago down south, they were trying to get people to join the local fire deportments. To get people to join, they gave the white boots away free to anyone that join.
