Is Midtown the place to be? Apartment, townhouse, or neighborhood home? I'm going to be living with 1-2 other recent grads. We're looking to each spend $800-$1100 per month. TIA.

Someone will tell you don't live in Houston, someone will tell you a gay neighborhood, and then it will turn into BR vs Houston

If you guys like to rage, and want to be around other recent grads, that price range is pretty doable for 3 people in midtown.

Don't live in Houston unless you can find a place surrounded by rainbow flags. But you're better off in Baton Rouge.

Midtown or Rice military/Washington Ave area. Probably more so Midtown. I would expect to be at the higher end of your price range but you should be able to find something

With 3 people, that price range is very doable. I have not lived over there in a few years, but I would imagine the rents are similar (I paid <$800/month in a 3BR townhouse). The key is to scope out the area first, because there can be some sketchy places right next to some nice places and 1 block can make a huge difference.

If I were young and single it would be south of the heights off of the pkwy.

very doable. When I lived on Gray back in the day it was slightly cheaper. wish we had those rates in Austin. Housing and rental market you get butt fricked here.

While I enjoy Lizards, unless the OP went to a private school in Houston I don't think he would like it very much. And upper kirby isn't what it used to be without OTC/Hendricks/Roak/Owl Bar.

This. My bro lives in the heights and it's a really cool and hip area.

Me and future Mrs. Gar just got an apartment in the Westheimer area near 610. It was $1200 for a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, and a study (that can easily be a second bedroom). Really nice area too.
