If you love the outdoors and don't care about great schools or healthy local economies? Anywhere on the delta or down the bayou is tough to beat.

If you like city living? Texas.

I get the appeal but I like to fly out of Nola semi frequently and go to LSU games quite a bit so wouldn’t wanna drive that from way tf up there. It just doesn’t have the proximity to anything I give two shits about.

Lafayette is a nice place. Down to earth folks, great food, decent (considering) night life, relatively safe, Cajun stuff, proximity to hunting/fishing

My Grandfather on my mother's side is from Transylvania.

Transylvania, LA named by a plantation owner who attended Translyvania University in Lexington, KY
