I'll never forget getting to the farm at 1am after the Auburn game to milk and found out that all the cows were out with the gate wide open. I've never been so panicked in my life, but still managed to corral all the cows back in their enclosure

I've known a lot of panic in my time on earth, but I don't think I'll ever know a panic like that one.

Great way to meet your cross-campus neighbors that you want to give a tour of your dorm you to.

Also, Athletic Department, find the right ones and they have sweet game day perks. Plus, AD building attic + roof

I worked at the Studen Health Center for a little over 3 years back in the early 2000s.

I held 3 different postions during my time there, but I was in my third position the longest, and it was my favorite. I ended up being close friends with my boss (we're still friends, in fact)...the work was easy but interesting, I had some amazing coworkers there with whom I still keep in touch, and it ended up steering me towards a career path (which I abandoned for a decade but am returning to shortly).

I loved working on campus. Plus, the Chimes and Serrano's were just down the hill when we wanted to go to Happy Hour.

I worked at University Relations. Wrote small press releases, folded a lot of paper, stuffed envelopes, ran them through the mail meter machine. I also got to deliver inter-office mail in the LSU owned Chevy Malibu all over campus. I’m pretty sure that when I left that job I had been inside every single building on campus, even the ones off campus like the Rural Life Museum. Outside of that I was the office do it all. Moved furniture, served as talent in campus produced safety and promotional videos, washed cars, basically did whatever they needed.

After that I sold display ads in the Reveille until I graduated. Sometimes I would make serious bank because it was commission based.

My first on campus job was working in University College in Allen Hall (at the time it was called Junior Division). I actually learned a lot about working in an office environment there and had a good supervisor. Later on I ended up working in one of the smaller computer labs so I got paid for surfing the Internet all day. This was late 1990’s.

I actually had this job and loved it. What years were you there? I worked with Vernon and Jay and of course, Juan.

Equine department at the vet school, did lots of cool stuff.

Drove the horse trailers into Nola as part of the police-escorted horse rescue operation following Katrina.

Worked the horse and research animal farms as well. Tons of heavy machinery. Had a similar problem as another poster with a herd of goats getting out and wondering into a condo complex on river road that I had to corral back one night...

Lots of fun memories

My ex-wife's best friend (no pics of either) was a nurse at the LSU Student Health center at that time. She was dating a student trainer for the football team and we got tickets in the LSU family section for the UGA-LSU game in 2003. WE got some really strange looks wearing red and black in there.

I don't remember her name, but if you knew a nurse there from Georgia, that was her. She was young, like early 20s at that time; it was immediately after she graduated college.

Milked cows there as part of a Fenbendazole study back around 91-92. Broke me of any notion I had about being a dairyman. frick milking all those heifers at 3 am and 3 pm.

Spent more time in the large animal clinic than I did the lab. It was a blast. I wormed my way into doing a bunch of cool shite with equine and food animal.

Years and years ago in landscape services.

We had access to 6-7 John Deere’s and Kubota’s that we could ride around anywhere on campus to take care of recycling needs.

A couple years in I would wear my badge and walk into the football suites, floors in the union I didn’t know existed, also that’s when Mainieri and I became pretty close.

The correct answer is KLSU. Fun job, no stress, great perks (concert tix), only student supervision, etc.

The only hard part was getting the job. We had over 200 applicants for just a few open positions.

not at LSU, but i worked for the IT department at my college and it was fantastic. bunch of sarcastic nerds, and our bosses were a bunch of barely graduated sarcastic nerds that let us get away with all the goofing around we wanted as long as work was done.

i got moved into the sysadmin group after a year and my boss was a gamer who didn't come in to work till 10-11 every day and eventually i got handed the keys to the kingdom on blackboard, email, student registration, etc. because he was such a bum.

the perks to that job were infinite, especially with all the contacts i made around the university (no parking tickets, early registration for classes, hookups at the food court, scholarship office contacts)

Continuing Education delivering lessons to/from professors around campus and scanning grades into the system. Couple of times a year we had to stuff brochures in envelopes.
