Worked in the campus IT help desk - great job. Learned a lot and was able to get homework done or browse the internet while answering dumb IT questions.

Wasn't LSU but LaTech, my Uncle Junior (real name) was the star pitcher in the late 50's so the school gave him a high paying job.
He'd drive out to the pig farm and turn the water on for the pig trough. Then when it was full, he turned the water off.
Got paid enough for rent, tuition for my Aunt, groceries, cars for each, and to have a nice nest egg after graduation to be able to live wherever they chose. He took a pay cut going to work for the State (LDWF).

I had a pretty good scam going at LSU in addition to the IM gig, I actually initially took a pay cut to go fly jets after I got out of school

Not the best job but the most enlightening was helping an English professor grade remedial English papers. This was in the 70s when all you needed was a HS diploma to get into LSU. Some of the freshman football players weren't even writing at a first grade level. Painful.

Working at the rec center was a solid job back in the day. Lots of eye candy in the cardio area, and entertainment in the weight room (Superfan Mike Toole deadlifting and cutting wrestling promos in the mirror between sets to get pumped up)
