I saw a sharp one at a restaurant today. I wouldn’t mind having one.
I kind of dig the ‘72.

I thought I would see every model of the El Camino in the OP so I could make my decision...

The 1970 SS is probably best of the bunch.
The 68 SS may be a bit better looking however.

I'm not sure why, but the OG '58-'60 models have always appealed to me. I think it has to do with seeing some really cool customs made with them over the years.

I’ve always kind of liked the 1960 El Camino.

quote:Correct answer. The '72 has a somewhat more attractive grill and tail light assembly, but GM downgraded the 454 from 450hp to 425hp in 1971. Mainly due to changing from solid lifters to hydraulic and also use of a smaller carburetor. This elimnated the LS6 from production. From this point on all 454's were LS5's.

Just saw an El Camino with a camper shell on it. Looked pretty badass. Topper was sleek. Not big and boxy.

I had a ‘69 Chevellle. The El Camino looks just like it down to the taillights so I’d go with that.

I'm partial to the 76. probably because I had one the looked very similar to this with a 305 V8
Wish I still had it.

Here’s a ‘65 just to show the generation.
I personally like the later models.

I used to have a shoulder length mullet when I was on my tools. I was eating breakfast at a cracker barrel in Brookhaven, Ms and an elderly (~50) lady approached me and asked if she could take some pictures of me in her El Camino. I wish I had the pics. It looked similar to the one in the OP.

Sounds like the start of a Penthouse Story Letter

My dad had an 81 or so. It was basically a Monte Carlo. They’re pretty cool. They get a little land-yachty in the late 70’s.
Since I’ve got a Mustang, I’ve always had a thing for the old Falcon Rancheros.
