Honestly, he only owes you $300 so I don't know if you can do anything and if you can, it would cost you more than $300 to get it done. The only thing you can do is let other people know he screwed you and will likely screw others.

No such thing.
well I don't know what it is

I just know he hired me to do a couple jobs on the side as contract work... he paid me for all of it until the last one, he just didn't pay me....

I know I'll be getting a 1099 for the wages made at the end of the year from him....

So it's whatever the frick

I just want to get paid the money he owes me. On top of it I came out of pocket $58 in expenses that I turned in and he never reimbursed me for either yet

I just told this feller I'd do it for around 165-170 bux. So less than $300, dorkchop.

yeah I'm kinda with you... $300 is in that threshold where it's enough to piss you off but not really enough to where it's worth spending money to go after.... it's kinda sad for poor people that $300 is a bunch of money to. They don't really have any real recourse.... if I was rich I'd fricking spend whatever to go after the money for principle alone.

this is kinda my thinking. Go up to the job centers and put his name on blast. Maybe find his FB and blast him, put screen shots of the text of him admitting he owes me money and the run around he has given me.

Maybe attorney friend will shoot off a letter for me and the dude will cut me a check.

What kind of work did you do for $300?

Did you pressure wash his driveway or something?

Cut you losses and move on to the next driveway.

I always just assumed that it means the person earning the money is self employed.

Some preventative maintenance on a couple AC units since I was in the area already but he held the initial contract. I did the small work for a percentage of the fee he charged. But I also had to expense an extra night for a hotel. So all in all the guy owes me right at $300 that he is going 'going to pay me when he can', but what's fricked up is I know he got but a check for the work I performed.

I think it costs like 115 to file in small claims court in NOLA plus whatever service is. You'll spend 150 at the least to recover 300

Take another job with him with no contract.

F it up so bad it costs him a bunch of money.

His name is on the contract so he has to pay to fix. That's what I'd do.

Or burn his house down, dobt care if its only $300. I dont work for free.
