Navarre's

I would put theirs up against any I've had.

I agree with cajun pecan house. That being said I tried a gelato king cake from piccola gelateria this year and it was really good. Not traditional in the least but a good way to change it up. Its on freret st...napoleon end.

Keller’s in Lafayette is fantastic but it’s not your classic king cake. More of a pastry
Bought one (blueberry creme) yesterday after lunch for work....didn't last the afternoon!.

that donut shite from Meche's sucks

Which Meche’s? There are several in town, most not owned by the same people. I like the king cake from Rickey Meche’s on Guilbeau. The ones I’ve had are not a giant donut, but tastes vary. I like Keller’s a lot as well, probably my favorite here.

Fresh McKenzie's. It's a king cake, not a big donut/cinnamon roll with white glaze and sprinkles

They are all donut places and they make a donut king cake. That's not a king cake, just get a donut if that's what you want. I like Haydel's.

I concur.

The the only thing they have gotten mighty expensive lately.

They have gotten about as high as a giraffe’s pu$$y in the king cake world.

Dong Phuong hands down.

Randazzos cakes are overloaded with sugary icing. The Dong cakes use a creme cheese icing so it's more subtle, which allows the delicious flavor of the bread to be enjoyed.
