This thread has me wondering:

How do manufacturers and retailers of durable goods with relatively long life spans (cars, TVs, etc) stay in business? If a tv maker comes to a town and sells everyone a tv, he’s going to have like no customers for the next couple years aside from ones who need repairs.

Size? Features? Resolution?

Best Buy has a 65" TCL (house brand) with built in ROKU, 4K picture, and HDR.

$499, after $100 in savings

They also offer financing if you need it.

Tcl 55"

Then buy a sound bar.

Under $500 together. Looks and sounds fine.

Convince them to upgrade before the product wears out.

People who have old CRT TVs, especially huge ones, are encouraged to replace them with flat screen TVs.

People with flat screen TVs of lower resolution or heavier models are encouraged to get the lighter models with better resolution, built in smart device (ROKU, Fire, Chromecast, etc), whatever.

Helps that, these days, people have tv’s in the living room, every bedroom and often, the kitchen.

Where do you live? I’d go to Best Buy with you and negotiate a good deal for a 12 pack of platinum.

TCL isn't the Best Buy house brand, Insignia is.

That said TCL does offer the best bang for the buck in budget TVs. Often Walmart has the best price per feature on TCLs.

Been looking at Best Buy. I’m torn between the Samsung 65 inch verses the LG 65. Both $599.

You can make pretty much any cheap TV just as nice as a top of the line brand with a decent soundbar.
