Bestbuy has good deals. I bought a 50" 4k smart tv for 299.

TVs are getting super cheap.

I bought a 55 inch Hisense 4K for around $250 last winter for the bedroom. It looks just as good if not better than the overpriced Sony I have in the living room.

I think the gradual move from LCD to LED a few years ago really closed the gap between brands.

This one was a Hisense. Honestly, I’ve been super surprised how well it’s held up. It’s taken a beating between 3/4 moves and treks across country. Been a damn good product.

Best Buy has a 65" TCL (house brand) with built in ROKU, 4K picture, and HDR.

$499, after $100 in savings

Yea but look at the TCL side by side with a Samsung or something with a better screen and you will see a huge difference in quality.

Here you go. A vizio. $239.99.

LINK

It's the vizio website. I bought my last tv straight from their site.

You can make pretty much any cheap TV just as nice as a top of the line brand with a decent soundbar.

That will help the audio side but won't help the video. If you are someone that can't tell the difference between great video and mediocre fine but the majority of people are more astute at noticing differences in video quality over differences in audio quality.

My dad's 55" tcl looks awesome. Was like $348 on sale. The speakers are lacking that's why I said earlier just kick in a sound bar. Especially a Bluetooth compatible and you've got a great set for cheap.

My whole point was lets not get carried away with lauding this level of panel. Yes, they can be very good but there is a legitimate reason there are sets that run 5 times as much for the same screen real estate. Audio pretty much universally sucks with flat panels it's a matter of physics.

No doubt.

IMHO qled is gonna lose. Which means there will be some fantastic deals on Samsung’s in the near future.

I have a Hisense at my camp that's over a year old, mounted outside, and not very protected from the elements. SOB keeps on keeping on. I may be off, but I believe it's 60" and it was under 400 if memory serves correctly.
