Yeah I've never lived north of I-10 in my life, so I've never experienced seasons and don't really feel like I'm missing out. I really hate the cold.

horrid traffic, extremely hot and humid, sprawl to the Nth degree, and lots of crime issues.
These are not unique to Houston over Austin and Dallas, and certainly not to Nola, Atlanta, LA levels in crime. Your statement is as stupid as it was before your terrible explanation.

I'll stick with my assessment of Screwston.
Oh, I see. Was it your wife? Husband?

You don't know what Screwston is in reference to?
What kind of Mosquitoville lover are you? LINK

Depending on what kind of crime you are talking about, yes it does. Houston has a higher murder rate than LA, a higher violent crime rate than NOLA, and a higher rate of reported rape than Atlanta. LINK

I honestly don't remember removing "some aspects" from the statement about crime. My statement taken in absolutes (which is how I wrote it) is wrong.
It has lower violent crime and murder rates than Nola and ATL which I would assume you consider the worst parts of those cities. So your statement is still false.

I never said it had exactly the same amounts of crime in all aspects. I said it has lots of crime issues like NOLA, LA, and Atlanta all have. This is 100% true.
Houston is one of the most dangerous large cities to live in Texas.
But go ahead and parse it down if it makes you feel better.

Austin was probably cool 15 years ago but now it's a yuppie haven with godawful traffic and overpriced real estate.
I prefer Houston to Dallas of the remaining choices here.
most people will disagree because they think austin is hip, but austin has done an absolutely horrible job of keeping up with growth (keep it weird!) ... 6th st ain't 6th street anymore, and as you said, the price of real estate is ridiculous for what you get ...

Great choice, no coincidence it is the #1 place to live in the entire country under 500k. They were #2, last year and #3 2014. I have buddy that lives there, loves it.

On the way to Houston today. Never been. I need food recs. Where do the good hookers hang out?

Obviously the answer is Austin with Dallas coming in second and Houston 3rd but make the case for either of the 3.
Austin is #1. But cost prohibitive.
Houston/Dallas are #2A, #2B
You will NEVER hear a Houston person say Dallas is worth a shite and vice versa.
"Houston has too many Mexicans"
"Dallas is too pretentious."

as a lifetime texas resident, the answer is San Antonio.
you could pay me a million bucks and i wouldn't live in Austin. maybe out in dripping springs, eanes, or the arboretum area. but Austin proper is dog crap.

I like San Antonio. It isn't #1, but it's a nice city.

Unfortunately, that $1M wouldn't get you too much house.
